I have that issue too, not only Nautilus, but also Control Center, and other libadwaita gtk4 based gnome apps.
There are glitches and visual issues since gnome 43 updates

Yes, there really are more problems.
Also, there are bug with scrolling when there are a lot of files in a folder: scrollbar constantly jumps to the beginning/end of the dir.

Maybe there is some way to roll back the changes to a previous version?

I tried that already by holding all gnome packages through apt-preferences. if you hold Nautilus, you have to hold other essential gnome pkgs.
The downside of doing that is many packages will break or will still on hold bc its depedancies.
I don't know if Kali team can do something about it, as it's pulled directrly from debian sources.
There should be a similar issue opened on the Gnome gitlab repo and search for answers

Seems to be fixed in Nightly version of Nautilus
$ flatpak install --from https://nightly.gnome.org/repo/appstream/org.gnome.NautilusDevel.flatpakref
$ flatpak run org.gnome.NautilusDevel
