Summary | 0003684: Elantech touchpad not visible in X
Description | ETPS/2 Elantech touchpad is detected and works in console (with GPM), but doesn't appear on any DM to be used nor configured. Trying to list or enable with xinput throws "unable to find device" error. Seems related to gorg.
More on this, it happens only when using a non-root, normal account. In GDM the touchpad is usable and switchable, in a root session too, but a normal user cannot see o switch on/off the touchpad inside a X session. Adding the user to "input" group solves the problem, but it´s quite strange this happens only with the touchpad but not with the normal mouse. |

Due to the age of the OS (Kali Moto [v1], Kali Safi [v2], Kali Rolling 2016.x), these legacy versions are no longer supported. Please could you see if you are able to replicate this issue with the latest version of Kali Linux - https://www.kali.org/downloads/)? If you are still facing the same problem, feel free to re-open the ticket. If you choose to do this, could you provide more information to the issue you are facing, and also give information about your setup? |
