Summary | 0003860: Boot failure due to kernel udev device manager failure to mount swap partition at /dev/sda5. | ||||
Description | I upgraded my distro with apt-get upgrade on 3/2/2016. after the upgrade the next boot cannot proceed. The kernel udev device manager outputs "a start job is running for kernel device manager (1min 30sec)." The next output after time out is [depend] dependency failure for swap.The cycle begins all over again with the same output. | ||||

What about disabling the swap partition in /etc/fstab? Does this let you boot? Can you show us the full error messages? And your list of partitions? Is your system fully up-to-date? "apt update && apt full-upgrade" |
