Description

Installed manually with no issues, added local IP, DNS server and Default Gateway on installation. When logged in shows wired connection is up. Checked the Network settings and shows all addresses entered on initial install. When try to ping 8.8.8.8 says network unreachable. Used route command and there is nothing showing in there for the Default Gateway, but all other information is there. Used sudo route add default gw [IP address here] and no information was updated. Have rebooted, reinstalled software, re downloaded ISO and changing the network details in the network settings.

Steps To Reproduce

reinstall software, or try to make the change live on the system. it happens every time.

Can you show me the content of /etc/network/interfaces ?

cat /etc/network/interfaces

Also the network-manager config:

ls -al /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/
cat /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/*

(before posting, please replace any credential stored in those files with XXXX)

I have reinstalled the ISO and selected bridged option for NAT and it has entered all the details into the systems network files automatically using automatic DHCP. The gateway was correct, the DNS was correct and it allowed ping test to 8.8.8.8. However when changed back to manual IP addressing scheme, the IP address has changed to the correct one, and the ifconfig command shows this. But when running route it has again taken out the default gateway IP address I have added manually.

None of the pictures/commands show any real problem so far. The IP of the gateway is obscured by its hostname ("gateway") but if you use "route -n" or better "ip route" you should see the IP of the gateway.

What gateway value did you expect and what gateway value do you see?

Hiding your IP address and your gateway IP address in your screenshot is also not helping to understand your problem.
