Summary0003952: GIMP causes GUI and input to freeze
Description

GIMP freezes whole desktop and input. Not a complete crash but completely unresponsive state. Audio and network remains in alive state.

Steps To Reproduce

Just start GIMP 2.8.18-1 on GNOME Desktop Environment(Wayland).

Magic SysRq and power button is responsive, meaning unresponsiveness lie in userland.

Gimp is not a high-priority package for Kali and Xorg is still the default (not Wayland)... so we're not going to invest time in this issue. Please work with the relevant upstreams directly if this matters to you.
