Summary0004165: gdm3 freezes latest kali linux login screen
Description

I have updated, and upgraded to the latest kali linux (as of 21/08/17) on my laptop and desktop and on bith I am unable to get passed the login screen because gdm3 crashes.

I am able to enter username and password press enter and thats it, I am stuck with a blank screen with the cursor frozen in the middle of the screen and nothing else, my keyboard doesn't do anything either. It is completely frozen.

I way work around this issue is to login using gnome wayland

Due to the age of the OS (Kali Moto [v1], Kali Safi [v2], Kali Rolling 2016.x/2017.1), these legacy versions are no longer supported.
