The same happens with ALL these: Select root > logout > logout displays logging kali-linux-2016.2-amd64.iso flash login, hang at logs .......1.........2.........3.........4.........5.........6....This release works correctly, logout goes to the login screen. kali-linux-2016.1-amd64.iso ok .......1.........2.........3.........4.........5.........6.... |

When this happens, the system as a whole isn't hung - ssh connections remain fine, and ctrl-alt-del will cleanly reboot. I've just tried to replicate this in a VM (to check unit status before and after a logout), but wasn't able to. I'll try again later on real hardware. |

replicating this, I see no significant difference in the output of "systemctl status" between the initial desktop being up, and the failed state after logging out and the desktop not returning. |

Due to the age of the OS (Kali Moto [v1], Kali Safi [v2], Kali Rolling 2016.x/2017.x), these legacy versions are no longer supported. Please could you see if you are able to replicate this issue with the latest version of Kali Linux - https://www.kali.org/downloads/)? If you are still facing the same problem, feel free to re-open the ticket. If you choose to do this, could you provide more information to the issue you are facing,and also give information about your setup? |
