Summary0004612: Kali Linux 2018.1/32 bit skips init of Username & Password
Description

By installing the version Kali Linux 2018.1/32 bit it skips the initialisation of the Username and Password.
First the installation procedure initializes the Root with the Root password.
And goes from there to the disk partitioning activities.

One second after that Root init the User init announcement is to be seen on the screen, but it goes straight to the partitioning activities.
The result is a not startable OS.

Steps To Reproduce

Install Kali Linux 2018.1/32 bit.
I have done it twice with the same result.

Additional Information

Downloaded Kali Linux 2018.1/32 bit

  • checked with GtkHash the SHA256 sum (ok)
  • checked with the gpg routine as described on the Kali site (ok)
  • did burning the ISO file by K3B with the verify after burning option (ok)
Attached Files

It looks like that you are not aware that this is currently a feature of Kali:
https://docs.kali.org/policy/kali-linux-root-user-policy

Use the root account with the root password that you have set during installation. You can create supplementary users afterwards.
