Summary0006348: Username field in login screen does not strip down the spaces.
Description

while login to kali linux 2020.1 using lightdm the username field does not strip down the spaces around the given input. Consider user gave "username " (user is not aware of the space) as an input then the user will not be able to login even after the correct password because of the space present at the end of which user is not aware.

Steps To Reproduce

Simply put a space either in front of username or at the end of username.

Additional Information

It puts a negative impact on UX.

I checked for the same issue in the latest version of kali linux(2020.4) and the issue still persist. And the issue exist in both lightdm-xsession and gnome desktop manager.

Don't you think that it could make more sense to report this to the lightdm and gdm bugtrackers which seems to be the source of the problem instead?
