Summary | 0004825: AMDGPU drivers not supported
Description | On the website for kali linux 2018.2, it said that there is better support for amd drivers but when I do lspci | grep VGA, I see my rx 460 but when I run hashcat and pyrit, my GPU does not show up.!! Also, I tried to add another GPU via external pci-E risers but then kali linux won't boot up. I tried with mesa but in vain.
Thank you for your interest in Kali but this bug report is not actionable. Please read https://kali.training/chapter-6/filing-a-good-bug-report/ first. We are a small team and we expect you to provide a much more detailed bug report. And you are mixing things up. The better AMD support was about better support of the video cards in the Linux kernel. pyrit and hashcat are not using them as video card but as GPU for computing and they rely on OpenCL for this. The AMD OpenCL support is closed-source/proprietary and not packaged in Kali so you will have to dig further to get it to work. supporting the video c |
