Summary | 0002301: Dependencies of metapackages installed in live image are not marked as manually installed
Description | It looks like that the « APT::Never-MarkAuto-Sections:: "metapackages"; » setting of APT is not respected during the package installation done by live-build as the Kali live image seems to have dependencies of metapackages marked as "auto-installed" instead of "manually-installed", despite the fact that all kali-linux-* packages are in section "metapackages".
Steps To Reproduce | Running “apt-get remove nmap” in a live image will yield a long list of packages that can be autoremoved and it shouldn't (except possibly for nmap's own dependencies). root@kali:~# apt-get remove nmap
So I filed this bug on the Debian side: http://bugs.debian.org/793360 and I wrote a patch to fix this problem. I uploaded fixed packages into kali-dev (apt 1.0.9.10+kali1) and sana (apt 1.0.9.10+kali1~r2u1). |
