Summary | 0002441: Firmware for ath10k devices not present
Description | When booting the iso on an Alienware that has one of those ath10k wireless card, the driver loads but is unable to start because the firmware is missing (according to dmesg). I haven't found any package with the firmware but I found a github repository with the firmware for those cards: https://github.com/kvalo/ath10k-firmware It just needs packaging and be included when building the iso.
Steps To Reproduce | Boot an iso on a recent alienware with an atheros ath10k chipset.
It's not really a new issue but it's true. The corresponding bug report on the Debian side: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=724970 And the associated wiki page: https://wireless.wiki.kernel.org/en/users/Drivers/ath10k/firmware |

I just pushed firmware-nonfree 0.44kali1 that includes those firmwares. |
