Description

xfce only supports touchpad-specific functionality like tap-to-click when using the synaptics driver (see https://docs.xfce.org/xfce/xfce4-settings/mouse "Currently only touchpads using the Synaptics driver are supported")

please add xserver-xorg-input-synaptics package on xfce desktops to enable full touchpad functionality

it's probably worth including this on all desktops if it's not already there to improve touchpad behaviour

Steps To Reproduce

boot kali-linux-light-2018-W08 on a laptop with a synaptics-compatible touchpad (eg: Apple MacBookAir5,2) and note tap-to-click doesn't work. open the Mouse and Touchpad settings panel and note the Touchpad pane is not present.

install xserver-xorg-input-synaptics, log out and back in to restart X. open the Mouse and Touchpad settings panel, go to the Touchpad pane, enable tap-to-click.

Most desktops (at least GNOME) switched to libinput to configure touchpads. It looks like XFCE lags behind (not unusual) so it might be OK to add xserver-xorg-input-synaptics as Depends on kali-desktop-xfce.
