Summary0008799: Zeek dependency prevents install
Description

When installing zeek in: Linux computer 6.6.15-amd64 0000001 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Kali 6.6.15-2kali1 (2024-04-09) x86_64 GNU/Linux
the following dependency error appears:

sudo apt-get install zeek

Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
Reading state information... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
zeek : Depends: libc6 (< 2.38) but 2.38-13 is to be installed
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

Tried in standard installer image downloaded from kali.org, and on our own build

FTR: zeek FTBFS because of missing build-deps libbroker-dev.

The package libbroker-dev is no longer in debian testing because FTBFS (https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1037597)

I understand that means libroker-dev fails to build from source in Debian.

I assume if I try to build zeek from source the dependency problem will be there too, so no zeek in Kali?
Is there something I can do?
