Restarting Kali twice did unlock dpkg and libreoffice now installed

I have had multiple occurrences of dpkg issues since booting Kali for the first time 24 hours ago. Restarting the os does not seem for a very efficient way to go. Can I help fix this bug and make dpkg more robust?
