Summary0009071: upgrade to linux-image-6.11.2-arm64 & Desktop broken
Description

Machine: MacbookPro 14inch
OS: MacOS 14.6.1 (23G93)
Parallel Desktop version: 18

I install Kali with kali-linux-2024.3-installer-arm64;
When exec "sudo apt upgrade" and restart;
Enter initramfs; Can't enter desktop;
Switch to old core; Can enter desktop;

Normal:
linux-image-6.8.11-arm64

Mistake:
linux-image-6.11.2-arm64

Do things work if you do sudo apt full-upgrade like we have documented at https://www.kali.org/docs/general-use/updating-kali/ ? It sounds like something didn't actually finish upgrading, or more likely, you are missing packages.

Unfortunately debugging the causes of this issue is really hard, as you can't boot your system to find what causes it. You can try selecting a different kernel during the boot menu (go to Advance options...).
At this point, I recommend reinstalling the latest Kali from https://kali.org/get-kali
