Summary | 0009183: pinephone pro vlc pop-up not accepting input, creating recurring issue
Description | if i run vlc (the program to watch videos), it opens 2 windows. the window is shows me is the video window, and it starts playing the video. but i can't tap on anything. none of the controls work. this is because there is another vlc windows that opened as a first-run pop-up that has a question about accessing media information online. the window has a checkmark next to "allow metadata network access" and a continue button. i cannot uncheck the box or tap continue, those controls do not work. all i can do is swipe the window away in phosh to close it. then i have control in the vlc video window. but this happens every time i load vlc, and there's nothing i can do about it as a user. i would like it if i could interact with the pop-up, so i can deselect "allow metadata network access" and press continue. note: tapping on vlc controls and menus in vlc does work (apart from some things going off the screen), so i don't know why this pop-up is not accepting input.
i ran it sideways and was able to uncheck the box and tap continue. i dont know if it worked because it was sideways. i think the issue it was having was that the check box was a very small tap area unlike what i would expect on a touchscreen device. like i think the tap area may have been smaller than the visual check box, i dont know. |
