Summary | 0004618: Windows selected from Kali boot, DVD drive disappears. | ||||
Description | Have a desktop with multiple removable drives, Kali 2018-1 amd64 and Windows 10-64 have own drives. Boot default set to Windows on 2nd drive. If boot is through Kali menu following Windows boot DVD drive is not available (driver error 45 - hardware not found). Boot to Kali and DVD is present If Kali drive is removed and Windows boots directly, DVD is present. | ||||
Steps To Reproduce | Both drives present - boot goes to Kali menu and Kali selected. DVD is present Boot goes to Kali menu and Windows selected. On boot completion DVD is missing. Code 45. Remove Kali drive and boot Windows drive directly. DVD is present. | ||||
Additional Information | Desktop with AMD FX Quad-Core 3.8 GHz processor, Award BIOS, and 8GB ram. | ||||
Due to the age of the OS (Kali Moto [v1], Kali Safi [v2], Kali Rolling 2016.x/2017.x/2018.1), these legacy versions are no longer supported. Please could you see if you are able to replicate this issue with the latest version of Kali Linux - https://www.kali.org/downloads/)?
