Summary | 0005135: After enabling persistence, Kali USB becomes slow (30 second freezes)
Description | I've created a 16gb USB with Kali 2018.4. Created persistence through the following method: mkdir -p /mnt/my_usb *swapping out sdb2 for my USB's ext4 partition name which was sde2 This method successfully created persistence, however immediately after booting into a freshly created usb When I boot into a non persistent live usb of Kali 2018.4 it's super snappy and fast - it seems that something within the persistence creation causes the pc to run out of memory or suffer greatlyin how it manages the hardware. my system usually runs things pretty well
Due to the age of the OS (Kali Moto [v1], Kali Safi [v2], Kali Rolling <= 2018.4), these legacy versions are no longer supported. Please could you see if you are able to replicate this issue with the latest version of Kali Linux - https://www.kali.org/downloads/)? If you are still facing the same problem, feel free to re-open the ticket. If you choose to do this, could you provide more information to the issue you are facing, and also give information about your setup? |
