Summary | 0001953: OpenVAS not working
Description | Hi Guys, I need you advice - I use latest Kali Linux with all updates, OpenVAS check install scrpit shows, that all configured correctly: It seems like your OpenVAS-7 installation is OK. But, I completely can't work with OpenVAS, because I login to web interface, start scan, click on any menu button (in web interface and always get error: Internal error: get_many:1205 (GSA 5.0.1) An internal error occurred while getting resources list. The current list of resources is not available. Diagnostics: Failure to receive response from manager daemon. Seems, that OpenVAS completely broken in Kali.
Additional Information | I will provide all needed info just to help solve this problem.

Here, what I found in logs: md main:WARNING:2014-12-13 22h48.21 UTC:8469: read_from_server: failed to read from server: A TLS packet with unexpected length was received. md main:WARNING:2014-12-13 22h48.29 UTC:8490: read_from_server: failed to read from server: A TLS packet with unexpected length was received. md main:WARNING:2014-12-13 22h48.36 UTC:8509: read_from_server: failed to read from server: A TLS packet with unexpected length was received. lib serv:WARNING:2014-12-13 22h54.18 utc:9612: openvas_server_connect: failed to connect to server (interrupted): Connection refused This log was reflecting error, when I wasn't able login to OpenVAS web interface with error 'OMP is down' Seems problem was in expired certificate. Next command solve this problem: openvas-mkcert-client -n om -i I wonder, how this could be in clean Kali setup.. |
|
I have the same problems. Please fix them. |

Are you booting in the live image or are you using Kali installed on harddisk ? If the former, what ISO are you using ? If the latter, what when did you do the installation and what ISO did you use to do your installation ? |
|
We didn't reproduce the error. But as it seems to be caused by expired certificate, we add certificates checks in the openvas-check-setup and openvas-setup. The fixed version is 1.7.2. I just pushed it in kali-proposed-updates. Please try to run openvas-check-setup. |
|
openvas 1.7.2 is now in Kali itself. |
