Summary | 0002475: Update USB and PCI ids before building ISO
Description | When I built an ISO a couple days ago and used a recent adapter, it didn't display a useful name at all. After updating the USB ids, it displayed much more useful name.
Additional Information | Simply add pulling latest usb ids and pci ids using update-usbids and update-pciids during ISO build.
I updated the usbutils package to a newer version (007-3~kali1) to have the latest version of the file. But I don't want to modify the ISO live build process to load the latest version of the file each time. We already have a packaged copy, it's enough. lspci seems to be smarter and queries the network by itself when an unknown ID is encountered. |
