| Summary | 0002543: root filesystem when choosing separate /tmp, /var, and /home is too small for growth | ||||
| Description | When choosing to partition out the different pieces of the filesystem with LVM during install of Kali 2.0, / is created at about 8.2 GB. Immediately after installation and the first full set of patches, the filesystem sits at 95% full. This is too tight to accommodate installation of other software and/or updates to key software such as Metasploit. I recommend that the default filesystem size for / be set higher, say 12 GB or even 16 GB. | ||||
