Summary0000257: Main Menu "Kali Linux" Group Scrambles
Description

When we open "Main Menu" tool located at Applications > System Tools > Preferences > Main Menu it doesn't dhow the "Kali Linux" group. However it groups all the pentest applications in a group named "Other". If we do check/un-check any application using the "Main Menu" tool then it updates the Main Menu and removes the Kali Linux groups and list all PenTets applications in the Other group.

Steps To Reproduce

1) Open Applications > System Tools > Preferences > Main Menu
2) Check or Un-Check any application

a quick fix for this would be: sudo apt-get -y -f install kali-menu until further research can be done

Yes, it restored the "Kali Linux" category in Main Menu.

Fixed since Kali 1.0.1.
