| Summary | 0002623: Kali Unable to Poweroff - Reproducible Steps Included | ||||
| Description | I am running Kali 2.0 x64 (completely up to date) on VMWare Fusion 7 on a Mac. I installed Kali from an ISO into a VM that I created. When Kali is initially installed, it works perfect, and powers off without a problem. However, the next step I take is to install rasa's vmware tools patch. Once rasa's patched vmware tools has been installed, Kali will no longer poweroff within its VM. When "poweroff" is typed, Kali begins to shut down, but then just hangs. | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | Download Kali 2 x64 ISO (not vmware image) | ||||
Also, running "shutdown -h now" will result in the same hanging that "poweroff" does. |
Not sure this is something we are willing to spend time and resources on. Check if the same happens with fusion 8, with no vmware-tools patches. |
