| Description | i'm running kali from virtualbox and whenever i try to launch terminal, the pointer spins for about 10 seconds and then stops and terminal does not launch. have not had it launch even once. | ||||

Please provide me the output of the following commands: And also look into the journal (journalctl -r) to see what error message you get after having tried to start a terminal. The proper fix for you is likely to run "dpkg-reconfigure locales" and to enable the "en-US.UTF-8" locale as the main locale. You can do this on a virtual console (CTRL+ALT+F1) but I'd like to understand why you do not have a correct UTF-8 locale right from the start... What did you select during installation? Please attach the /var/log/installer/syslog file. |
