Summary | 0003142: Netinst iso images doesn't works for Kali Rolling after kernel update
Description | I have found a strange issue. I have installed a kali vm using netinst mini.iso image without problems on Wednesday 9. But when I try to install another kali vm on Saturday 11, install process fail. Every time problem is "not hard disk found". Maybe the problem is with kernel's update. I have tested the following iso images: http://http.kali.org/dists/kali-rolling/main/installer-amd64/current/images/netboot/mini.iso .. and both fails. P.D: Please, if you need to rebuild these iso images, remeber to add USB keyboard support like I have reported previously in https://bugs.kali.org/view.php?id=2563
Steps To Reproduce | Launch kali install using netinst iso images
It seems that the same problem occurs under VirtualBox: I have tried in a physical machine to discard problems with my virtual environment, and same problem occurs: install process doesn't detect local harddisks. |

I regenerated the mini.iso with the latest kernel: |

Sorry Raphael, but where are these new iso images? I don't see them in this places: http://http.kali.org/dists/kali-rolling/main/installer-amd64/current/images/netboot/ or |
|
Please be a bit patient, they have not yet been mirrored (the mirror runs 4 times a day)... You can get them from repo.kali.org in the mean time: http://repo.kali.org/kali/dists/kali-rolling/main/installer-amd64/current/images/netboot/mini.iso |
|
Sorry Raphael, Installation fails with these new netinst is image. When installer tries to download "Installation components", every time fails downloading libdevmapper1.02.1-udeb with the following message: wget: bad address http.kali.org Other installation components like debian-archive, grub-installer, etc has been downloaded without problems. |
|
The mini.iso images have been updated another time. This time the problem was with the glibc update (2.21->2.22) and not with the kernel update. $ grep mini SHA1SUMS |
