| Summary | 0003193: red screen after closing and opening laptop lid in xcfe4 | ||||
| Description | on HP pavilion G6, Intel i3 cpu, 8GB RAM, integrated graphics. When closing the lid of my laptop in Kali-rolling, the login-screen appears completely red when opening the lid again.Clicking the mousebuttons make the screen turn blue, and red when clicked again. switching to tty1 with [ctrl] [alt] [f1], and then killing xfce4-session brings up the login screen (GDM3), and i can resume my work in xfce4. | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | have xcfe4 as environment this bug always reproduces on my laptop | ||||
|
What version of the kernel are you using? Do you have a fully up-to-date kali-rolling system? |

this is because xflock4 command is using slock instead of gdm. just edit /usr/bin/xflock4 and remove the lines containing the slock command. Or else, you can just install lightdm and light-locker and these should automatically fix the problem by using lightdm as your default display manager and correctly locking the screen with it. |
