Summary0003828: When changing Mac Address with macchanger my MAC address reverts to orginal one
DescriptionI have tried to change my mac address which I have done in the past without any problem. Today I was able to change both my eth0 and wlan0 but when i go to sign into wifi my mac address changes back to the original one. Why is this happening?
Steps To Reproduceifconfig -a (Original Mac addresses)
ifconfig eth0 down
macchanger -a eth0
ifconfig eth0 up
ifconfig wlan0 down
macchanger -a wlan0
ifconfig wlan0 up
ifconfig -a (New Mac Addresses)
I then select network and sign in wifi
ifconfig -a (Original Mac addresses)

sbrun (manager)

it's because you are using network-manager.
You have to configure network-manager to not use/clone the original mac address.
