Summary0004152: Add docker to Kali
Description

It would be really nice to be able to run docker'ized apps on Kali. However, docker does not appear to be included in Kali or optionally installable from the official repos.

Steps To Reproduce

root@kalihost:~# docker
bash: docker: command not found
root@kalihost:~# which docker
root@kalihost:~#

Additional Information

There are various tutorials about doing this, unfortunately they all delve into adding additional apt sources, etc. So it'd be really nice if there was a supportable way to get docker.

Not really sure what you are talking about...you can install docker which is in the Kali repos - apt-cache search ^docker

Not:
docker - System tray for KDE3/GNOME2 docklet applications

Our repos are imported from debian testing...We are unlikely to import docker to our repos, and would rather people use the same procedure used to get docker to work on debian (ie, using docker repos). This way, we don't have to worry about maintaining updated version on our side.

The package is currently not in Debian Testing and thus not in Kali. You can grab it from Debian unstable if you really need it... but this package is not critical to Kali and we have no special safety measures to ensure it's always present.
