|Status||closed||Resolution||no change required|
|Target Version||Fixed in Version|
|Summary||0004531: Kali Rolling prompts the creation of a user account after Root password prompt upon installation|
|Description||I download the kali linux image from: https://archive.kali.org/kali-daily-images/|
From there I started my installation from the iso on a virtual machine; however after I passed the Root password creation I was prompted to supply a username I’m confused from this as this was never present in previous versions of Kali Linux Until near 2018.1 releases on daily images.
|Steps To Reproduce||1. Boot up the iso in a Virtual machine platform (I use VMware Workstation 14 PRO) |
2. Get pass all the prompts until after the user root password creation prompt.
3. Watch as it prompts you for an alternate username.
|Additional Information||This was never present in previous versions of Kali Linux Until near and after 2018.1 releases on daily images.|
The problem was not present in images from https://www.kali.org/downloads/
only in https://archive.kali.org/kali-daily-images/
|You are correct, this change in intentional. We're testing the possibility of allowing regular user creation during the installation process.|
