Summary | 0004639: KALI 2018.1,after upgrade, the system often login out suddenly
Description | KALI 2018.1,after upgrade, the system often login out suddenly
Steps To Reproduce | In a new KALI 2018.1,everything is ok. I open a terminal, run: apt update apt upgrade apt dist-upgrade reboot The login in,kali looks like normal, but when I use it a awhile, kali crash. Like "Kali Linux 2018 crash when connecting an USB device",but I have't connect any usb device. Kali logs out and system returns to logging on screen, shutting down all the processes. After logging in, it behaves like the computer has been shut down. All the work/processes are lost. But all mounted parts are still mounted, all services, like cups,I manually started, are still started. I reinstall KALI 2018.1 much times. Thanks everyone.
Additional Information | My notebook:Thinkpad T430 System:Windows 10 + KALI 2018.1,use efi boot

You should at least provide logs starting a few minutes before the crash... and tell us what you were doing when the crash happened. journalctl will give you the logs |
|
I do nothing,I'm lerning the use of KALI, only use firefox-esr, terminal..as usual. And KALI crashed suddenly. Use command:journalctl -b > log.txt,I get a log file. Thanks for you help! log.txt (469,345 bytes) |
|
This log file doesn't contain any sign of a session crash. Please send the log file after having experienced the crash... and indicate the rough timestamp of the crash. |
|
OK. 20:06,I start KALI. Then open firefox-esr,only browse web pages. Then KALI crashed at 20:13 probably. I login in again. Use command:journalctl -b > log1.txt,I get a log file. Thanks! log1.txt (457,260 bytes) |

Thank you, the problem seems to be in libinput (crashing Xorg) and related to your touchpad. The X server crashes with this assertion failure: Mar 19 20:13:40 nuts /usr/lib/gdm3/gdm-x-session[954]: Xorg: ../src/evdev-mt-touchpad-tap.c:1028: tp_tap_handle_state: Assertion `tp->tap.nfingers_down >= 1' failed. This should be fixed in with libinput10 1.10.3-2 that should be available shortly. |
