Description

uname -r outputs 'linux-headers-4.17.0-kali1-amd64' with a new installation of 2018.3 (amd64).

apt-cache search linux-image after running 'apt-get update && apt-get upgrade' only represents a header of 'linux-headers-4.17.0-kali3-amd64'.

Issue appears to have been fixed. uname now reflects kali3

This is just the normal flow of package updates... what's on the mirror might not yet be installed, and after an apt full-upgrade you are back in sync.
