Summary0005197: Unable to authenticate
Description

Several hours ago I installed the live boot of kali linux to my usb where I encountered a few issues which caused me to have to slightly stray away from the tutorial I was watching however I did eventually get it to successfully boot up. It worked near enough fine for around 7 hours until I went out for 45 minutes when I returned I was presented with a splash screen indicating me to swipe up to another page which was a login page where I cant type into the text box and it is nonstop flashing ‘authentication error’, there is no navigation menu to get anywhere nothing. I have been pressing series’ of different button combinations (ctrl alt delete, esc delete, ctrl alt f2 etc) to see if that does anything but still nothing . I have been looking for a solution and someone who has posted an issue similar to this for longer than an hour and I have found nothing. I need some sort of help urgently as my laptop is now unusable

Additional Information

I did try to make it a dual boot but it didn’t allow me to create a bootable flag, so I couldn’t access windows (when my linux was working)

Due to the age of the OS (Kali Moto [v1], Kali Safi [v2], Kali Rolling <= 2018.4), these legacy versions are no longer supported.
