Summary0005596: Why kali is stuck with 4.19 kernel from quite some time
Description

haven't seen any new kernel update from quite some time.Why not move on to kernel 5.0 cuz kernel 5.2 realesed two weeks ago.Why kali is stuck with 4.19 kernel?

Kali rolling is based on Debian Testing. Linux version in Debian Testing is currently 4.19.37-6,
we have 4.19.37-6kali1 in Kali-rolling.
Debian didn't update to 5.0 kernel because of Debian Testing was freezed before the
official release of Debian 10 (early in July). There were only security fixes.
Debian is preparing the new kernel version but I don't know when it will be ready. Updating the
kernel takes a lot of time and testing.
We will update to kernel version 5.0 after Debian's update and after our tests.
