Summary | 0005657: IPV4 Networks randomly stop routing
Description | IPV4 stops routing in the middle of web browsing sessions. IP is assigned via DHCP. Can ping the default gateway and other hosts on the LAN, but no farther. DIG fails to find DNS server. This happens after running apt update / apt upgrade, and apt dist-upgrade. Does not seem to happen on the unpatched base image. This happens at random intervals, but it always happens.
Steps To Reproduce | Install Kali 2019.2, fully patch it, access network with browser, Work for a while and the network stops routing.
This seems to happen only after dist-upgrade. Normal upgrade does not cause the problem. |

Due to the age of the OS (Kali Moto [v1], Kali Safi [v2], Kali Rolling <= 2019.2), these legacy versions are no longer supported. Please could you see if you are able to replicate this issue with the latest version of Kali Linux - https://www.kali.org/downloads/? If you are still facing the same problem, feel free to re-open the ticket. If you choose to do this, could you provide more information to the issue you are facing, and also give information about your setup? |
