|Target Version||Fixed in Version|
|Summary||0005759: Gnome desktop not responding to mouse or keyboard events|
|Description||After updating to Gnome 3.34, I am getting an issue where after login, the Gnome desktop is displayed but does not respond to any mouse or keyboard events. The gnome-shell process does not appear to have hung, as the desktop correctly resizes in VMware Workstation. After switching to another VT to kill the gnome-shell process, it may take a few login attempts before getting a working desktop.|
|Steps To Reproduce||1. Create VM using netboot and a minimal preseed e.g. https://github.com/iesplin/kali-minimal/blob/master/gnome-preseed.cfg|
2. Log in with the user 'hacker'
3. Most of the time, the desktop is displayed but does not respond to mouse or keyboard events.
|Additional Information||The gnome-shell logs have a number of errors, however one appears to be related to input.|
Oct 27 22:43:03 kali gnome-shell: JS ERROR: Gio.DBusError: Connection is closed.
A search for this error found an issue in the gnome-shell git repo that exactly matches the symptoms I am facing - https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/issues/1712. The commit to fix this issue is also in the Debian git repo and noted in the changelog for gnome-shell 3.34.1-1.
Can you please update Kali's Gnome packages to resolve this issue.

||Forgot to mention that host is Windows 10 1903 with VMware Workstation 15.5.0|
||I have manually imported gnome-shell 3.34.1+git20191024-1 from debian unstable, it should migrate to kali-rolling soon.|
