Summary0006034: Missing Windows Boot Manager after using Kali Linux Live Kali Linux 64-Bit (Live) 2020.1 and chntpw
Description

After using Kali Linux 64-Bit (Live) 2020.1 I lost my Windows Boot Manager and unable to run Windows.

Steps To Reproduce

I have 2 boot options in my GPT Disk:

  1. Windows Boot Manager (R5SL120G)
  2. R5SL120G

• Kali Linux 64-Bit (Live) 2020.1
• Windows 10.1909

  1. Load Windows from WBM - It's OK
  2. Load Kali Linux Live
  3. Use chntpw to reset pwd
  4. Reboot PC
  5. See "Missing boot device. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to reboot"
  6. Go to Select boot device, see just "R5SL120G" (no WBM in list)
  7. Use Acronis True Image to restore disk.
    GO TO 1.

I tried to do this 3 times - same results. WBM not found.

P.S.
It's happened when I used recommended Etcher for Windows from https://www.kali.org/docs/usb/kali-linux-live-usb-install/ to create bootable USB drive.
When I tried Rufus to create bootable USB stick with GPT target - all works greate, WBM didn't lost.
