Summary0006437: Problem in Kazam screen recorder.
Description

Whenever I want to screen record through Kazam, the audio is not recorded. Whenever I go to the File option, click on Preferences. Under General tab, the Speakers option is disabled and the Microphone option is set to unknown.
If, I click on the Microphone, it only shows "unknown".
I have checked the PulseAudio Volume Control, from there nothing I have found out.

Currently I'm using kali 2020.2. But this issue I have faced in 2020.1 also.

Steps To Reproduce

You can record any video through kazam, you will find the issue after you play the video.

I think the issue has arleady been reported to Debian:
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=955817

Can you test the patch mentioned here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kazam/+bug/+1876322

And let us know if it works?

Hi sbrun,

The patch is working fine. I was having trouble in the patch process (as it was throwing an error). it was resolved by opening the new terminal again.

NOTE: For those who don't know how to patch the file.
1) After downloading the file.
2) $ cd /usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/kazam/ (this is the location where kazam was installed in my drive.)
3) $ sudo patch < (path_of_the_patch_file)/kazam_pulse_audio_python_3_8.patch
