Which version of Kali is in WSL?
Could you do `cat /etc/*release` ?

There is a bug in Windows 10 currently (recently fixed in Windows 11), which would pull down Kali 2019.x rather than 2022.x...
It all depends on how you installed Kali via WSL ~ https://www.kali.org/docs/wsl/
