Summary0008055: vlc will stop to show video stream if one stream ends and a second one ist opened
Description

Start vlc by calling with a file or video stream. This will be entered into the queue. Now wait until this video or stream ends. Start a new one without closing vlc. The new stream will start, but no video will be shown. This does not depend on settings. Regardlessly it is the same: if one stream ends the video will not show an other video from a new stream if this stream is openden after the first stream ended. If it is opened before the first video ends the second one will show video output.

vlc: 3.0.18~rc2-1+b1

Steps To Reproduce

Install kali, upgrade to lastest.
Then open a local video. Wait until this video ends.
Then open a second video. While the first one showed video output, the second one does not.

Additional Information

Workaround: close vlc, then reopen with the second video stream. vlc will show video output in this case.

unsure if this is vlc related or a problem with kali and vlc. other players do not show this behavior.
vlc on Debian testing does not show this behavior, but it is an older version compared to the one available with kali.

Did not test if this will be gone recompiling vlc.

VLC is not a kali package and this bug report should be submitted to Debian, or possibly to upstream VLC itself.
