Summary0009103: Keyboard occasionally stops responding.
Description

This issue has been occurring ever since a few weeks ago. Sometimes, in order for the keyboard to work in browsers, programs and even on the system itself (Such as the shortcuts for screen brightness and sound volume), I need to go and type anything into the search bar of the Applications menu. That kind of behavior is clearly not common.

AFAICT Kali team does not maintain drivers, kernel or whatever else is causing this. So you probably need finding out what component this causes and report a bug to the relevant development team of it.
