Summary0009225: Shortcut Keys Not Working Initially in Kali Terminal Emulator
Description

In the Kali Linux Terminal Emulator, when the “Start with preset: 2 terminals vertically” option is enabled under Preferences > Appearance, the subterminal shortcut keys (e.g., Collapse Subterminal, Top/Bottom/Left/Right Subterminal) do not work upon first launch. However, once a user manually clicks on any “Action” button once (via mouse), all shortcut keys begin to function as expected.

Shouldn't this be reported to the developers of that terminal software?

We provide the package for qterminal unmodified from Debian. You should try filling the bug report directly to the upstream repositories
