The new version has not yet been migrated to kali-rolling.
Is this because the project structure has been changed in the new version 2.8.1? A new folder called “above” has appeared, which contains the necessary scripts.

Do I need to make any changes or re-package tool for Debian?

It didn't migrate because of the autopkgtest that failed. I had a look, the failure is not related to above. I added a hint so that the migration tool let the package move to kali-rolling, the next run will be at 18:00 UTC. The package should be in kali-rolling after that.
