Description

Honeypot-IDS is an advanced cybersecurity monitoring tool designed to simulate vulnerable network services in order to attract and detect malicious attackers. It acts as a decoy system that mimics real servers such as HTTP, FTP, and Telnet, allowing security analysts to observe attacker behavior without risking actual infrastructure. By capturing unauthorized access attempts, login credentials, suspicious commands, and payload injections, the system provides valuable insight into potential cyber threats.

The tool includes an integrated Intrusion Detection System (IDS) that continuously analyzes incoming traffic and identifies suspicious activities such as brute-force attacks, SQL injection attempts, cross-site scripting (XSS), path traversal, and automated vulnerability scans. Each detected event is categorized by severity level and logged with important forensic details such as attacker IP address, timestamp, request payload, and protocol source.

Honeypot-IDS also features a real-time monitoring dashboard that visualizes attack statistics, threat frequency, and attacker information for easier analysis. All collected data is securely stored in an SQLite database, enabling detailed reporting and historical investigation. This tool is highly useful for cybersecurity research, digital forensics, attack pattern analysis, and educational demonstrations of modern intrusion detection techniques. ️
