As documented in https://forum.greenbone.net/t/kali-scans-fail-at-0-vas-23-45-1-gvm-libs-22-41-0/22473/5 we see that a fully updated Kali environment

has a problem with OpenVAS

When OpenVAS starts to run, some python errors are generated, and the whole process terminates.

A member of the Greenbone Team said that the upstream issue should be repaired, and that the repositories need an update. His words:

The issue stems from a Python 3.14 compatibility bug in ospd-openvas/OSPd multiprocessing due to a change in Python 3.14/Linux, where multiprocessing now defaults to forkserver instead of fork. forkserver requires the Process target to be pickleable.

He suggested that a bug report be sent; that brought me to your website.
