Can't configure bridge with brctl because it's not present, and won't install

You're probably missing the proper sources.list entry, works on my side.

Actually, this is a bug in CD install, as it does not include the proper deb listings for online updates in the apt-get config.

Not a bug in the installer, this happens when you run an install with no mirrors, as documented in docs.kali.org.
