Summary0001648: After Upgrade boot only in command prompt :-(
Description

I am using Dualboot Windows 7 and Kali.

I have upgraded kali to Version 1.0.8, and after reboot and choice the grub menue it boot only in command prompt.
I can log-in there with root, but thats all, just an command prompt without starting gui.

Tried to start " /etc/init.d/gdm3 start "
But then i get an black Screen with just an blinking Cursor.

Then tried also "apt-get update" and "apt-get upgrade -f"

But nothing happen ,all same.

Steps To Reproduce
  • Starting Kali 1.0.6 in normal way, without problems
  • using: apt-get update , and apt-get dist upgrade
  • Reboot
  • Choice Kali in Grub Manager
  • black screen command prompt with log-in
  • Log in as root
  • wrote /etc/init.d/gdm3 start
  • Black Screen with blinking Cursor :-(
