Summary0001674: Install with encrypted volume and LVM fail on vgcreate
Description

Receive error message:
"Unexpected error while creating volume group
Autopartitioning using LVM failed because an error occurred while creating the volume group.
Check /var/log/syslog or see virtual console 4 for the details."

Console 4 shows error:
"Writing physical volume data to disk "/dev/mapper/sda5_crypt"
Physical volume "/dev/mapper/sda5_crypt" successfully created
/dev/null: already exists in filesystem
New volume group name "null" is invalid
Run `vgcreate --help' for more information

Steps To Reproduce

Install using kali 1.0.8 32-bit ISO, graphical or text

  1. Guided - use entire disk and set up encrypted LVM
  2. Select target drive
  3. Wait for data to be erased
  4. Assign encryption passphrase
Additional Information

Tried on netbook and in a VM, same results. Chose hostname as "null" if that matters.

"All files in one partition" is the option I choose between steps 2 and 3.

Due to the age of the OS (Kali Moto [v1], Kali Safi [v2], Kali Rolling 2016.x), these legacy versions are no longer supported.
