Summary | 0001723: During a Hard Drive Install of Kali 1.06,1,07,1,08 and 1.09 install process freezes at the Net Detect Stage
Description | This is caused by the presence of a Broadcom BCM4313 802.11bgn internal wifi device. The freezing only began with kali 1.06 When the wifi device is removed the install process proceeds normally. After the Hard Drive install is completed the device can be reinstalled. As these wifi devices are internal components of the computer the computer case must be opened and the wifi device removed from the slot. Altering the BIOS has no effect. All our computer with this device installed freeze during a Hard Drive install. A persistent usb install is not affected by the wifi device and proceeds normally Musket Teams
Due to the age of the OS (Kali Moto [v1], Kali Safi [v2], Kali Rolling 2016.x), these legacy versions are no longer supported.
