Summary0001745: Tried to update, restarted, now I only get a message saying "Oh no! Something went wrong"
Description

Like it says above I tried to update, it was running in the background. Then I tried to restart, I am not sure what happened but when I got to the point where I should be able to login I go the message "Oh no! Something went wrong. Please logout and try again".

I have tried that but nothing has happened.
I have tried retarting in recovery mode, but I do not know what to do. All I get is the command line and I have no idea where to even start.

I would love to get my files back. Two in particular which I need for my thesis. Good timing with this.

Steps To Reproduce

I have no idea. I can't get back to where I was

Additional Information

Please help I need some of the files for my thesis

This is a bug reporting site, not forums. Your best bet would be to hop on IRC and ask there.
